FASTER TRACK NOW FOR WEST PALM BEACH BUILDING PERMITS
City Commissioners in West Palm Beach have made it a policy to issue building permits within certain periods of time, ranging from minor projects (2 business days) to commercial building permits (30 business days). Authorized permits will have to meet thee Florida Building Code4 or city ordinances. A need may arise for more staff. Fees may need to be raised to keep the current level of service and to issue permits faster. Local architects and contractors say the city’s construction services department, which issues the permits, is overly zealous in its plan reviews, leading to unreasonable delays that are far worse than in other jurisdictions.
